Instagram or Google – Which Platform is Better for Advertising?

As in previous years, in 2023, most users continue to ask the same question – where is it better to advertise, on Instagram or Google? The answer to this question has never been simple, not in the past, and not now in 2023.

Instagram or Google Ads

What is the difference between Facebook ads and Google ads?

The main difference lies in how products or services are presented to consumers.

Instagram shows ads to users based on their interests, while Google displays relevant ads to those who are specifically searching for a product. In simple terms, Instagram focuses on brand awareness, whereas Google aims at converting potential clients. Let’s explore both in a bit more detail. Google Search Ads, based on paid search offers, allow businesses to target users based on the search queries they enter on Google (also known as keywords). Primarily text-based, these ads aim to present relevant promoted results to users that may aid them in their search.

From the user’s perspective, when they perform a search on Google for a specific keyword, results are displayed in less than a second. In Google search ads, advertisers allocate a budget and pay for each click on an ad when that particular keyword is searched.

Instagram ads, on the other hand, allow you to target your ad to people based on the behavior and patterns you select as a target profile on its platform. Unlike Google ads, it is not based on user search queries. It provides a wide range of targeting options based on demographics, and also allows advertisers to target users based on their behavior, likes, and dislikes. For this reason, you need to really understand your customer to ensure higher conversion rates.

Conclusion

In conclusion, when judged by return on investment, Google advertising often proves to be the “undisputed king” for providing a better return based on sales results.
